Anurag Sharma

Corporate Executive & Author

Based in Mumbai, India

Anurag Sharma has over two decades of experience in General Management across corporate and development sectors in India and the USA. His experience in large MNCs, startups, and the social sector has given him a well-rounded perspective as a leader and human being.

Unilever, Honeywell, Capital One Bank, Intelenet Global Services, IKS Health, and Piramal Foundation are some of the organizations where he has worked. His last stint was with the pan-India non-profit Desh Apnayen Sahayog Foundation as the Chief Executive Officer.

Born in a middle-class family in Mumbai, Anurag's upbringing was simple and academically oriented. As a child, Anurag used to ask many questions and was independent in his thinking. This behavior was nurtured by his scientist father, teacher mother, and two sisters.

The questions turned inwards after the passing away of his father in 2004. Anurag spent the next two decades experimenting and knowing himself. The essence of this journey is now captured in his first book, Seeing is Living: Exploring Effortless and Joyful Daily Living.

What Readers Say

A Profound Book!!

"I bought this book with hope and wondered how can joyful living be effortless. Just like everyone else, I need my distractions, escape mechanisms so to speak. But, how has living the way I have lived till now served me? I am still seeking peace and happiness but it still feels elusive. This book is practical- real life examples, meaningful thought provoking quotes with beautiful poems and pictures. The author mentions to stay with one's thoughts without judgement. I have read this book numerous times now, I have paused and reflected on my thoughts without any motive. This approach of Seeing is tremendous and truly transformational!"

Short but Impactful!!

"It's an honest, simple and a really short read, exactly the kind of book you can finish in a few hours...but what stayed with me wasn't just what the book says but how it says things. Every single idea is backed by a story from the author's own life. Nothing feels like it's written just because it sounds wise. You can actually see where those thoughts come from, and somehow that makes them easier to understand and believe. I think that's how we learn best, don't we? Through stories. Through people who've actually lived what they're talking about. Anyone can write about life in theory, but when someone shares their own experiences......the mistakes, the moments that changed them....it really hits differently. The book talks about looking at life with a little more awareness, a little more love, and a little less judgment. It doesn't try to convince you of anything. It simply shares experiences, and somewhere along the way, you start reflecting on your own."

Powerful Message

"I loved the book. It is easy reading with a profound message for life- the power of seeing objectively as it is without a lens of emotion or attribution. The poems at the end, specially the cycle of life nudged one to introspect."

If you feel stuck read this

"I picked this up as a student just wanting something light and mood-lifting, and honestly, it gave me exactly that. It’s simple but makes you pause and think about your own thoughts and emotions without overcomplicating things. The quotes and poems add a nice touch, especially when you’re reading slowly. It didn’t feel like a heavy self-help book, more like a calm reminder to breathe and reflect. Definitely something I’d go back to when I need a mental reset."
